It is important for young people from around the world to come together at the Green Summit because it gives us a chance to get involved in climate issues and help protect our future. Despite the younger generations being the most affected by climate change, young voices often lack enough opportunity to instigate real change regardless of our motivations to do so.
However, Humanitarian Affairs Asia is giving us this much-needed opportunity to help materialise our motivations by placing young people at the forefront of the Green Summit and allowing us to be heard and make a difference.
The planned day of sustainable activities during the summit is particularly key as we will be engaging with the local community – and making tangible efforts to protect the local environment – whilst keeping a global aspect as young people from across the world come together for a single cause. The influence of such a global event will also have a local impact when delegates return to their homes with newfound means and motivations to take action in their local communities.
